Time Warp Tuesday: Baby Me

Not exactly a Swiss Miss… more a part-German Miss

One of my projects this year is to go through two boxes of photos and other mementos from my mother’s house. (The original “first touch” sorting was for each of the four adult children to get our own boxes, and then the things that went to each of us were dropped into the appropriate box one-by-one.) I haven’t gotten very far into the first box, but I did find this picture of me at 3 days old.

baby Karen, 3 days old

My birthday seems like an appropriate day to share this particular photograph!

I’ve been studying this photo and looking in the mirror, trying to see what has been retained over the past 47 years.  With apologies to my oldest son, I note that there is a similarity with my own features and his baby pictures in the forehead, eyes, and nose.  For the most part, however, newborn babies don’t look anything like “themselves” and it would be several months before I began to look like me. Perhaps I will share those in the coming weeks.

Its pretty interesting when you start comparing baby pics. But you’re right, the real looks start to come on a little later. Looking forward to seeing you “grow up”

Happy, happy birthday! I love the baby photo – you look so solemn. I hope your day is a bit more smiley.
