Trudie, if it makes you feel any better, this picture was taken a week ago. It is now cool (59 F/15 C) and wet — better for firefighters and wildfires, but not so pleasant to sit outdoors. The tomatoes are nearly “done” for the season, and sadly, I have no zucchini. -Karen

Unfair! Our summer was so cold that tomatos wouldn’t even have survived in a proper green house – let alone on my piddly veranda!
