Count your blessings, name them one by one…
I’m using Thursday posts to focus on thankfulness — and instead of counting blessings, I’m challenging myself to come up with them alphabetically. (You can find the rest of the posts in this series here.)
Welcome to S week!

I am thankful for the volunteer Squash that keeps growing in our garden.
(People who put the innards of squash in their compost in the fall get surprises growing in the garden each summer.)
I am thankful for the beauty in the change of Seasons…
Simple pleasures
Sometimes I am amazed to look at old pictures like the one above and realize that it has only been 13 years (not so many, really, compared to 50!) and yet our sons have grown up so much during that time. Youth is fleeting.
Simply sweetness searching and spun from souls.
Simple–sons, seasons, silence.
Silence and seasons. Sun.
I’m also amazed to look at that picture, only 13 years past, and think that one of those boys is now married!
Squash is a favorite in this house, well with that adults that is. Pumpkin or butternut squash are among the favorites right now but should make the list a longer one.
Summer, I love summer … looking forward to the next season.
Snow … so refreshing and clean when it first falls. I love the light it brings into an otherwise dreary day.
Sun. I love the sunshine. It is so cheerful and energizing.
I don’t have an S one but I am going to be thankful for guacamole tonight as we are going to an Avocado Festival.
Silence,
Song, Silliness, Stability. I will also add my Son and daughters (I probably missed “D” but I don’t want to miss saying that I am thankful for my daughters, as well as my son).
Simplicity is my S word.
For SPECIAL occasions that call for rejoicing — weddings, birthdays, holidays.
For SPAGHETTI (one of my favorite comfort foods). For the many SAUCES that taste terrific on SPAGHETTI. For the SWEET words and kind thoughts of others when I’m feeling out of sorts. For SILVER as in SILVER nitrate that closes wounds. For that matter, for SILVER linings that are not expected during a crisis or disaster.
SIGHT to SEE the beauty of nature through my own eyes and those of my relatives and friends. Hugs!
